Over lockdown I was definitely was missing Disneyland and needed a project. Both my boyfriend and I love pirates so we ended up theming our living room area into a pirate themed tiki bar.

Disneyland definitely holds a treasured place in my mind from an early age, and I remember being obsessed with Pirates of the Caribbean.

As a child I remembered getting the model above and wanting to collect the whole group and build a mini diorama of the ride. Some fifty years later I finally accomplished that goal!

Each “Tavern Tuesday” I’ll showcase a different part of the bar, inspirations, pirate lore and more — especially the work of Daniel Hirsch who I commissioned to build a miniature pirate tavern in a barrel.
