Allen and I were bummed when Acre’s East Petaluma outpost closed — we were big fans of their breakfast sandwiches. On a semi-related note, I’m so glad we now have Acre Pizza, which is one of our goto places — and will definitely post about them soon.

When we saw that a place called Eggspresso was opening, our hopes perked up. It took us a while to get around to trying it — we were both doing the keto diet for a while and have eased up a bit on the carbs. While I’m glad for the pounds we lost, I’m bummed to have missed out on this place for so long.

Allen and I both love breakfast, and we both judge places by how good their potatoes are, and these potatoes are the best I can remember in quite a while. They’re similar a steak fry, but end up being the perfect balance of crispiness and tenderness.

Both of our sandwiches were amazing too. The eggs were perfectly cooked, there were succulent toppings that kept the sandwich moist, and both the breads were great in their own separate ways. I will say that as delicious as the brioche bun was, I’m sticking with the English muffin as I appreciated it’s chewy texture adding to the mix. I bet though that Brioche bun would be awesome on the burger and that’s what I’m planning on trying next!

I will also say that the day I was there there was a bit of a wait but the staff was very apologetic about it. I only mention this as a reminder to be patient and courteous to restaurant folks. I worked at a restaurant up to the COVID outbreak and it was hard enough. Things are still very challenging and we need to all need to be conscious of how much work it takes to get us our food. Please be kind and tip well!!
